Chapter 5

The next day came and they caught their flight at 8am. They arrived in LA at 9am. They took the shuttle to take them to the car rental and checked into a hotel. When they got to the hotel room, Dwayne called the DJ to let him know he arrived. Everything was good and he had to be at the station at 3pm. Veronica was happy staring out of the six floor view. They both wore matching outfits, wearing black t-shirts and black jeans. Dwayne wore Tims and Veronica wore black heels.

“Well, how does it feel to be in LA?” he asked, grabbing her from the back.

She smiled. “It is amazing. The people… the energy. I love it here.”

“I am glad to hear that. We have two days to spend here. I want you to see Hollywood and we got to go to Venice beach as well.”

“I really want to thank you for bringing me here.”

“No problem. You are a wife and a mother so you needed the break.”

She kissed him. “I really do appreciate this.”

“You are welcome. How about we go get some food and see the city a little bit so we can head there? The 405 traffic is crazy.”

She agreed and they left the room to get food. In the car, she gazed at the city of Los Angeles. They pulled to one of the best restaurants in the city and had brunch. They ate and made their way to the radio station. They pulled up and she looked at the tall buildings downtown.

“Are you nervous?” Dwayne asked, opening her door.

“I am and it is your interview.” She hugged him while getting out of the car.”

“Well, you are going to be here at some point, so you need to be here to see what it is all about,” he said, opening the door.

They were greeted by the young Asian woman receptionist. They followed her to the floor where the interview was going to be. They walked in and was greeted by DJ Smalls.

“What’s good Best Selling Author?’ DJ Smalls said, dabbing him up. DJ Smalls was a chunky, light skin 5'6" tall brother. He had a nasty stench that Veronica didn’t want to get close to.

“Man, I am good.”

“Who is this gorgeous woman?” he asked, grabbing her hand and kissing it.

“DJ Smalls, this is Veronica. She is going to be the next best thing.”

“Oh yea. Well, welcome, ma. I am glad to have you here.”

“Thank you. I am happy to be here.”

“Alright guys. Let’s go in and set up. We go on in 15 minutes. Veronica, do you want to be on air with us?” DJ Small asked, directing them to the chairs with the mics in front them.

She looked confused. “I am ok. I don’t want to take away from his time. I am going to look.”

“I want you on air with me V.” He pulled her chair out.

She blushed. “Okay. I will.” She sat down.

“Ok guys. We are going to talk books and relationships. You know how it goes D.
